FIRST WATER RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITY OPENS ON LONG ISLAND

 

Partners gather to celebrate the completion of Town of Riverhead’s Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade and Long Island’s first-ever use of reclaimed water for irrigation at the Indian Island County Golf Course

 

 

WHO:        The Town of Riverhead, including: Suffolk County, Peconic Estuary Program, US Environmental Protection Agency, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Elected Officials from New York State, Suffolk County and environmental advocacy organizations as partners working to protect the Peconic Estuary from excess nitrogen pollution.

 

*Special guest US EPA Regional Administrator, Judith Enck*

 

WHAT:      An event to commemorate a water resource recovery partnership, followed immediately by a tour of the upgraded facilities of Riverhead’s Sewage Treatment Plant
