Revised Environmental Assessment Forms (EAFs)to Become Effective October 7th 2013
Beginning Monday October the 7th 2013, applications to the Town of Riverhead calling for the submission of an EAF will be required to use the revised short or long form of the document developed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Only large projects such as 50 or more residential units not to be connected to public water and sewer or commercial projects that alter ten or more acres or involve 100,000 or more square feet of gross floor area call for use of a long EAF. The Town will therefore substitute the new short form in its on line and in office applications.
The forms and frequently asked questions about them can be found at the DEC’s website (www.dec.ny.gov/permits/70293.html) and questions may also be directed to the Planning Department 727-3200 (Ext. 207). Both the short and long forms are available in a fill and save format to complete electronically and a static format to print and fill out by hand.
