RIVERHEAD TOWN OFFERS TOUR OF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

 

RIVERHEAD, NY – Have you ever wondered what happens to the dirty water from your shower, laundry and toilet after it goes down the drain?  How does it get cleaned?  Then what happens to it?  Get answers to these questions and more at the free guided tour of the Town of Riverhead’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

 

This tour offers a casual atmosphere where you can ask questions, learn about the Sewer District’s mission, its facilities and our outstanding employees that operate and maintain this system.

 

This tour takes approximately one and a half hours and is open to adults and children that preregister by calling (631) 727-3069 (space is limited).   There will be activity books for children and informational pamphlets made available to attendees.

 

For your safety and enjoyment, please be aware of the following guidelines:

 

·         Dress appropriately for the weather as you will be outside for part of this tour.

·         Closed toe shoes are required.

·         Disruptive behavior or tampering with equipment will not be accepted.

·         No smoking, eating or drinking permitted during the tour.
