SUPERVISOR WALTER ANNOUNCES RIVERHEAD CAP’S ‘DRIVE-THROUGH DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY’ TO TAKE PLACE THIS WEEKEND, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
Riverhead, NY – Riverhead Town Supervisor, Sean M. Walter, has announced that residents can now safely dispose of their expired or unwanted prescription medication and over-the-counter drugs - without having to get out of their cars!:
Drive-Through Drug Take-Back Day
Saturday, September 26, 2015
10 AM and 2 PM
Office Max parking lot at Tanger Outlets
1947 Old Country Rd. (Rt. 58), Riverhead, NY
This free event is being held by the Riverhead Community Coalition for Safe and Drug-Free Youth in partnership with the Riverhead Police Department and Tanger Outlets. The coalition will also provide giveaways for participating residents, including free Tanger coupon books.
“I encourage all residents to take advantage of this special event,” stated Supervisor Sean M. Walter. “Disposing of drugs in your trash or down the drain is dangerous, so this will not only help keep these drugs out of the wrong hands, but it will also keep them out of our water supply.”
The mission of the Riverhead Community Coalition for Safe and Drug-Free Youth is to engage collaborative partners in the planning, implementation and evaluation of strategies that prevent youth substance use. For more information about the coalition, or to participate, please call Riverhead CAP at 631-727-3722.
