SUPERVISOR AND POLICE CHIEF RAISE FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED IN A SHARK TANK SHOWDOWN!

Riverhead, NYSupervisor Sean M. Walter andPolice Chief David Hegermiller are raising funds in a Shark Tank Showdown! to support the Aid to the Developmentally Disabled (ADD) 2nd Annual Shamrock Shindig that will take place at the Long Island Aquarium on March 10, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. All funds raised will go to the ADD C.A.R.E. (Community Advancement of Regional Engagement) Initiative, a program that empowers people with developmental and mental health issues.

The event will feature Irish food and beverages, a live comedy show and private access to the Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center. Perhaps the highlight of the fundraising event is the popular Shark Tank Showdown. This year, Supervisor Walter and Chief Hegermiller are competing to see who will swim with the sharks at the aquarium. The man who raises the MOST amount will be lowered into a 120,000 gallon tank and come face to face with the sharks. Tickets to the event are $65 for adults and $25 for children.

Hoping to avoid that fate, Walter suggested “to make a contribution in the name of the police chief. Chief Hegermiller is probably more used to dealing with dangerous individuals. Therefore, I am pleading with everyone to be generous and make large contributions to this worthy cause in the name of David Hegermiller by visiting www.crowdrise.com/addshamrockshindig and choosing the Chief’s page!”
