Town of Riverhead Presents ‘FINDING DORY’ at the Wading River Beach
August 8, 2017
Riverhead, NY – Supervisor Sean Walter, the Riverhead Town Board and the Parks and Recreation Department are pleased to announce that the town will be offering ‘Movies on the Beach’ - a free special event for the entire community:
Finding Dory – Movies on the Beach
Friday, August 11, 2017
8:15 p.m. (Dusk)
Wading River Beach
Sound & Creek Road, Wading River NY
The featured movie, Finding Dory, is a Disney-Pixar animated action-comedy about the amnesiac fish Dory, who journeys through an undersea adventure filled with imagination, humor and heart. Finding Dory is a 2016 sequel/spinoff to 2003's Finding Nemo.
When Dory, the forgetful blue tang (Ellen DeGeneres), suddenly remembers she has a family who may be looking for her, she takes off with Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo (Hayden Rolence) on a life-changing quest to find them…with help from Hank, a cantankerous octopus; Bailey, a beluga whale who’s convinced his biological sonar skills are on the fritz; and Destiny, a nearsighted whale shark!
This performance is open to all residents of the Town of Riverhead. The movie will be shown on a 14’x26’ outdoor screen and is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:15 p.m. (dusk).
“It is our pleasure to be able to offer this free movie event in Wading River again this year. I want to invite residents of all ages to come down to watch this family-friendly movie, have some popcorn and refreshments and spend some quality time with their children, family and neighbors,” said Supervisor Walter.
Children under 18 years old should be accompanied by an adult. Those attending should consider bringing chairs or blankets to sit on along with some insect repellent. The Recreation Department will also hold a concession stand. Residents are urged to try to arrive early enough to find a preferred location to view the film.
