WHEN:                 Thursday, December 17, 2015  – 1:00 PM

WHERE:               Millbrook Gables Park, Lewis Street, Riverhead, NY

DETAILS:             Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean M. Walter said, “I am happy that we had the opportunity to open this playground along prior to Councilman Gabrielsen’s departure.  During his tenure, George has been an advocate for our youth and has worked hard to create as many opportunities for residents to enjoy playgrounds, parks and recreational activities.”

In 2010, the community civic association asked the town to enlarge the park by moving an existing fence and the Town’s Recreation Committee voted to expend funds out of the park and recreation fees install new playground equipment.

“I am pleased to be involved with the expansion of this park and the installation of this new playground equipment.  Many people have been helpful in making this playground a reality…It is truly a testament to the strength of our community,” stated Councilman Gabrielsen.  “Riverhead’s parks are important to the overall quality of life for our residents and they make our neighborhoods more attractive places to live and work,” he concluded.
